Main responsibilities
The Purchasing Manager oversees all purchasing activities at the site, both production-related and non-production-related, with a monthly volume of between 400 and 600 KCHF.
The role’s objectives are to improve the site’s purchasing performance and to ensure a secure supply chain.
The role reports hierarchically to the Site Director and functionally to the Group Procurement Director.
Key Responsibilities
- To define and implement the site’s procurement strategy in line with Group guidelines.
- Manage all site procurement operations: raw materials, subcontracting, capital expenditure and overheads.
- Analysing supplier markets and identifying new sourcing opportunities.
- Negotiate commercial terms: price, lead times, quality and payment terms.
- Monitor contracts, manage the supplier panel and mitigate supply risks.
- Optimise costs and working capital by managing stock levels, supplier lead times and payment terms.
- Manage your team.
- Monitor procurement performance indicators and propose associated action plans.
- Liaise with production, planning, R&D and logistics.
- Develop procurement synergies with the BORFLEX® Group and contribute to ‘make or buy’ decisions.
Required profile
- Higher education qualification in supply chain management, business or engineering, with a focus on industrial procurement.
- Proven experience in industrial and production procurement, ideally in an international environment.
- Understanding of supply chain issues, stock levels, working capital requirements and operational performance.
- Proficiency in an ERP system
- Ability to thrive in a group-wide and multicultural environment.
- Fluency in Italian and business-level English are essential
