Elastomer profiles and components for hydroelectric sealing

From initial design through to on-site installation, the BORFLEX® Group offers you its unique expertise and 100 per cent French manufacturing. As experts in the field of static and dynamic sealing, we manufacture all your rubber components to protect your hydroelectric installations.

Custom-made Elastomer Parts: The RUBBERFLOW® Range

Drawing on its industrial expertise, our group formulates and processes RUBBERFLOW®, an innovative elastomer blend designed to meet the most stringent industry standards and specifications for the hydropower sector, including DIN 19704-2.

Technical Specifications & Performance

As well as providing a watertight seal, the RUBBERFLOW® range is specifically formulated with additives to ensure high performance when subjected to mechanical, chemical and climatic stresses:

  • Mechanical properties: High resistance to abrasion and tearing.
  • Elastic properties: Excellent compression set (CS).
  • Thermal and chemical resistance: Stability across a wide temperature range (heat/cold) and excellent compatibility with hydrocarbons.
  • Environmental durability: Enhanced resistance to ageing, ozone and UV radiation.

Approvals & Contracting Authorities

The formulations in this range meet the technical requirements and approvals of the sector’s leading operators and engineering firms: EDF, VNF, CNR, GE HYDRO, Ponticelli, EIFFAGE, ENDEL ENGIE, Cockerill, etc.

  1. Tool-free vulcanisation corner joint
  2. Vulcanisation bonding using tooling
  3. Moulded corner: this option allows two different profiles to be moulded together to eliminate leaks at the corners. It is possible to mould a rounded corner to optimise the seal.
  4. Cold bonding for length adjustment on site. Cold bonding of finished parts should be used only in exceptional circumstances. A bonding kit is available for delivery.
  5. Corner bracing to provide protection during transport and whilst handling prior to assembly. Can be supplied in a wooden crate.
  6. Holes, oblong shape option to compensate for play.
  7. PTFE overmoulding to reduce friction.
  8. Engraving

Frequently Asked Questions:
Waterproofing & Profiles

Technical details from the official BORFLEX® brochure for your design offices.

How does BORFLEX® eliminate the risk of leaks at the corners of frames?

To permanently eliminate the weaknesses associated with conventional bonding, BORFLEX® uses an industrial moulding and corner-clamping process. This method produces one-piece sealing frames that are extremely reliable.

What are the maximum dimensions for your rubber profiles?

Thanks to our industrial production facilities, we design and manufacture profiles of all sizes, with a technical capacity of up to 70 kg per linear metre (kg/lm).

What is the RUBBERFLOW® compound from BORFLEX®?

The RUBBERFLOW® compound is a proprietary formulation developed by the BORFLEX® Group. It is designed to meet the most stringent standards for sealing hydraulic systems and to ensure the longevity of components when subjected to the stresses of the sector.
