FIBERROLL® ROLLS FOR AFP FIBRE PLACEMENT
BORFLEX® is a pioneer in the field of fibre placement rolls (AFP), used in the automated laying of thermosetting and thermoplastic prepregs. Unlike standardised products, FIBERROLL® rolls can be tailored in size to suit each customer’s fibre-placement machines: dimensional customisation is at the heart of the offering, with no standard sizes imposed.
The materials used are tested by BORFLEX®’s design office and R&D laboratory to ensure reliable performance on both thermosetting and thermoplastic prepregs.

Continuous resistance from 80 °C to 350 °C, with occasional peaks of up to 500 °C in the FIBERROLL® 400 range.

Formulation and production are carried out in-house by BORFLEX®, with no outsourcing of the mixing process – a factor that has a direct bearing on qualification: a supplier that does not have full control over its formulation may cause a batch to vary from one programme to another, which would trigger a complete re-qualification.
