RUBBY® range: Sustainable innovation in flooring
BORFLEX® presents its latest innovation: the RUBBY® range. This comprehensive technical flooring system combines performance and versatility to meet the challenges of the most demanding environments, such as railway stations and high-traffic infrastructure.

The complete RUBBY® system consists of a joist and decking (walking surface). This system is made from elastomers and composites, the formulations and blends of which the BORFLEX® Group has been perfecting for over 65 years. We continue to build on our expertise, which has enabled us to take the integration of recycled materials even further without compromising on performance, in order to meet our customers’ challenges. Today, BORFLEX® is able to replace 20 to 40 per cent of virgin rubber in its rubber compounds and ensure that its manufactured products are 100 per cent recyclable.
This innovative solution offers a sustainable response to the specific needs of modern infrastructure, whilst contributing to the circular economy and reducing the environmental footprint.
Key features
Composition: Rubber decking and joists, made from recycled rubber and composite materials.
Rot-resistance: Resistance to damp and extreme weather conditions
Corrosion resistance: Maintaining structural integrity in harsh environments
Easy to install and maintain: Quick installation and minimal maintenance
Applications
Railway stations and transport infrastructure
High-traffic construction zones
Demanding industrial environments

The RUBBY® range has proven its reliability and durability in a variety of settings, offering a high-performance solution that reduces maintenance costs whilst improving the operational efficiency of infrastructure.
Come and discover this comprehensive technical system at the INNOTRANS 2024 trade fair and find out how RUBBY® can transform your infrastructure and transport projects.
Recycled and recyclable elastomers: BORFLEX® expertise!
BORFLEX® demonstrates its commitment to the environment and industrial performance through its expertise in recycled and recyclable elastomers. Through a European research project, the company contributed to the development of Value-Rubber, and has consequently launched its Value Rubber by BORFLEX® range – a devulcanisation* technology that enables vulcanised rubber to be reused in new formulations.

Key features of the BORFLEX® innovation:
- Replacing 20 to 40 per cent of virgin rubber with recycled rubber
- 100% recyclability of manufactured products
- Retention of mechanical properties comparable to those of new rubber
- A significant reduction in the carbon footprint and the volume of waste
Practical applications:
- RUBBY® range: a comprehensive system for pedestrian crossings that can incorporate recycled rubber
- Solutions for rolling stock and railway infrastructure
This innovation positions BORFLEX® as a key player in the development of sustainable elastomer and composite solutions, combining industrial performance with environmental responsibility.
*Devulcanisation: Principle and Benefits
The VALUE-RUBBER® project represents a major breakthrough in rubber recycling. Devulcanisation is a process that ‘reactivates’ vulcanised rubber, a material traditionally considered difficult to recycle due to its irreversible chemical properties. By breaking the cross-links formed during vulcanisation, this technique enables the rubber’s components to be recovered for reuse in new formulations. The benefits of this technology include improved waste management, a reduction in the use of virgin raw materials, and the creation of materials that retain mechanical properties comparable to those of new rubber.
2. New leaflets:
To mark our participation at Innotrans, we are delighted to present our new railway brochures, available in four languages. These brochures showcase our comprehensive range of products, designed to meet the specific requirements and challenges of railway applications.
