ISO 19443: a key standard for the nuclear sector

ISO 19443 certification is an international standard specifically designed for organisations operating within the nuclear sector’s supply chain.

It is aimed in particular at organisations supplying products or services that are important for nuclear safety (IPSN).

Its aim is to ensure high standards in terms of quality, traceability, risk management and a safety culture.

Always in step with the times and mindful of its customers’ needs,
BORFLEX® has taken part in the European rubber recycling programme, VALUE RUBBER. The Group is now able to offer technical components incorporating a proportion of recycled rubber, without compromising on quality.

VALUE RUBBER

The issues at stake

  • Eco-design: reducing the carbon footprint
and the use of virgin polymers.
  • CSR transition: meeting the environmental requirements of public and private sector clients.
  • Cost resilience: stabilising raw material costs in the face of volatility in the virgin rubber market.

The solution

  • Low-carbon formulation: high proportion of recycled and reclaimed material, whilst maintaining the target physical properties.
  • Process compatibility: direct integration into existing moulding and extrusion lines.

The benefits

  • Performance maintained: mechanical strength
, abrasion resistance and shock-absorbing properties
    remain unchanged.
  • Reduced carbon footprint for the proportion of recycled material incorporated.
  • Conserved resources: extended material life cycle, reduced industrial waste.
