Acquisition of BOBET by the BORFLEX Group
On 25 May 2023, the BORFLEX® Group, which specialises in the design and manufacture of elastomeric components (rubber, silicone, LSR (Liquid Silicone Rubber), TPE and polyurethane), pultruded composite profiles and moulded composite parts for over 60 years, announced the acquisition of BOBET.
The BOBET Group is one of the leading players in the international market for the design and manufacture of fabrics coated with natural or synthetic elastomers.
Founded in 1937, BOBET is recognised for its expertise in the development, production and sale of rubberised fabrics coated using a squeegee. The company is ISO 9001:2015 certified and its products are renowned for their reliability and high performance.
BOBET’s head office and production facilities are located in Grand-Quevilly, near Rouen, and the company generates more than 55 per cent of its turnover from exports.
The acquisition of BOBET will enable the BORFLEX® Group to expand its product range and strengthen its position in the international rubber market. Bobet will bring to BORFLEX® its experience and expertise in research and development, as well as its international network of customers.
For BORFLEX®, this acquisition represents a significant step in its growth strategy. It will enable the company to diversify its product portfolio and expand its customer base. For its part, BOBET will be able to benefit from the expertise and wide-ranging know-how of the 11 companies within the BORFLEX® group.
The BORFLEX® Group is a key player in the railway, aeronautics, hydroelectricity, nuclear and shipbuilding sectors, as well as many other cutting-edge industries. It is therefore only natural that it should join forces with BOBET, with whom it shares expertise and common sectors of activity.
Take the aerospace sector, for example: BOBET manufactures protective covers for aircraft, whilst BORFLEX® has been supplying AFP (Automated Fibre Placement) rolls – including its dedicated FIBERROLL® range – to the leading aerospace contractors for many years.
The BORFLEX Group will also be exhibiting at the International Paris Air Show from 19 to 25 June 2023, in Hall 2B, Stand E32, alongside the ALTYTUD cluster at Le Bourget Airport. This will be an opportunity to showcase the full range of BORFLEX® products, including AFP rollers and BORFLEX® BOBET coated fabrics.
In conclusion, the takeover of BOBET by the BORFLEX® Group represents a promising opportunity for both companies.
Together, the two companies will be able to develop innovative solutions to meet their customers’ diverse needs across a wide range of sectors.
This acquisition also confirms the BORFLEX Group’s commitment to pursuing its strategy of growth and diversification in France and internationally.
