The environmental aspect at BORFLEX

With the rise of sustainable development in companies in recent years, it can sometimes seem as if the subject is on everyone's lips. However, when it comes to corporate social responsibility, too few companies are good examples. This is why BORFLEX®, aware of the environmental issues, has set up various actions in favor of the environment.

In order to limit our daily ecological impact linked to the production of rubber and composites, many actions are already underway:

-1- Our first action is a voluntary initiative by the BORFLEX® group to collect and measure our carbon footprint through our Carbon Footprint®.

The objective is to evaluate and determine the information to be taken into consideration in order to improve.

-2- The group is also careful with its industrial investments: our investment process integrates the notion of "environmental impact". We want to be more efficient while reducing the impact on energy consumption.

-3- Our involvement does not stop there, as we have been part of the VALUE RUBBER® project since its inception. This is a European project which aims to develop an innovative recycling technology for end-of-life tires, also called "devulcore".

This makes it possible to obtain a rubber that is completely devulcanized and therefore reusable. Our R&D teams were fully involved in this project. The results are now usable, as we are able to offer the entire market this pioneering approach for the green economy of tomorrow.

In addition to all these actions, we pay particular attention to the small details that, every day, can make a difference. Indeed, all our lighting is gradually changed to LED lamps, because they consume less energy and finally most of our products are created from natural rubber.

Concerned about the damage caused to the environment, the BORFLEX® group is therefore fully active in improving its actions and will continue to develop them over time to be as green as possible.
